Privacy Policy — Social Clean Feed PRO

    Last updated: [6 AUG 2026]

Social Clean Feed PRO is a Chrome extension that filters the Facebook home feed to show only posts from your friends and joined groups. This policy explains what data it handles and how.

    What data is collected

The extension reads the following directly from Facebook pages you already have open in your own logged-in browser session:

    • Names and profile links of your Facebook friends (read from your own Friends list page, or detected when you visit a friend’s profile, if auto-sync is enabled)
    • Names and links of Facebook groups you’ve joined (read from your own joined-groups page)
    • Your on/off preference settings for the extension
    • A count of how many posts have been filtered, for display in the extension popup

    How this data is used

This data is used for exactly one purpose: deciding which posts in your Facebook home feed to display at full visibility versus dimmed. It is never used for any other purpose.

    Where this data is stored

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in chrome.storage API. None of it is transmitted to any server — not to the developer, not to any third party, and not to Facebook beyond the normal page requests your browser already makes to view those pages yourself.

If you use Chrome’s built-in sync feature, your on/off preference settings (not your friends/groups list) may sync across your own Chrome installations via Google’s standard Chrome Sync feature, the same way bookmarks do.

    Data sharing

No data collected or generated by this extension is shared with any third party. There is no analytics, no advertising SDK, and no remote server this extension communicates with.

    Data retention and deletion

Data persists in local storage until you either remove individual entries via the extension’s “Manage Lists” page, reset it manually, or uninstall the extension — uninstalling deletes all associated local data immediately.

    Permissions used

    • storage — to save your synced friends/groups lists and settings locally
    • tabs — to open your own Facebook friends/groups pages in a new tab when you click “Sync”
    • Host permission for facebook.com — to read and filter the feed content on pages you visit

    Limited Use disclosure

The use of information received from Facebook pages via this extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: data is used solely to provide and improve the single, user-facing feature described above, and is never sold, shared, or used for advertising or unrelated purposes.
